This article explains how to program both driving and seating modes in Ability Drive®. For the mode button to be turned on to access seating the OMNI2 needs to be mounted next to the eye gaze device. Permobil Programming Guide Using an OMNI2 Display - One Profile
First, plug in the programmer dongle into the RNet bus.
Go to the OBP programming menu on the OMNI 2:
Select “Profile Enable”
Set Pr3 to Yes
(Profile 3 will be used for Ability Drive® and the name can be set in the laptop R-Net programming application)
Go to the OBP programming menu:
Select “Input Devices”
Set Pr1 to JS
Set Pr2 to JS
Set Pr3 to Omn
Go to the OBP programming menu:
Select "Modes"
In the Prf 3 row, set any modes you would like to be changed in Ability Drive to Yes.
Set Mode 1 to Yes
Set Mode 2 to Yes
Set Mode 8 to Yes
(The modes can be configured in the laptop R-Net programming application. Typically, mode 1 is set to Indoor Slow Driving, Mode 2 is set to seating, and Mode 8 is set to be available when a programmer dongle is attached to program the chair. Make sure to adjust and test the parameters for each mode enabled)
Go to the OBP programming menu:
Select “Omni”
Select “Profiled"
Set Pr1 to 1 - for Port 1
Set Pr2 to 1 - for Port 1
Set Pr3 to 1 - for Port 1
Select “Port 1”
Set SID to "Swi" - for Switch
Select Switches
Set User Switch to NO
Set Switch Detect to Off
Set Switch Long to 0
(Port 1 is where the 9-pin cable from the ADT is plugged in on the chair)
Go to the OBP programming menu:
Select “Omni”
Select “Port 1”
Select “Controls”
Set User Control to "Seq" - for Sequence
Set Actuator Axes to "Norm" - for Normal
(This setting allows the right / left arrows to select what seat position is being adjusted and the forward / back arrows to make the adjustment)
Select "User Menu"
Select "Position"
Set Position 1 to "Md1" - for Mode 1
Set Position 2 to "Md2" - for Mode 2
Set Positions 3 - 16 to "Blnk" - for Blank
(Optional) Set Position 3 to "SAdj" - for Speed Adjust
Select "Position Type"
Set Position 1 Type to "Enty"
Set Position 2 Type to "Enty"
Set Position 3 Type to "Enty"
(These positions and their associated modes will toggle between driving mode and seating mode when selecting the mode button in Ability Drive®)
Go to the OBP programming menu:
Select “Latched”
Select “Drive”
Set Pr3 to Off
Select “Acts”
Set Pr3 to No
(Never use latched driving with Ability Drive®, it is dangerous)
Go to the OBP programming menu:
Select “Profiled”
Select “Sleep”
Set Pr3 to 0
(This setting keeps the OMNI2 from going to sleep after 30 minutes)
Select "SwIES"
Set Pr3 to Yes
(SwIES allows the profile to use ESP. Make sure to set up and test the ESP speed and other settings to match the user's chair and environment)
